THE CHALLENGE PROGRAM, INC.

The Challenge Program, Inc., is a three year old, non-profit organization, based in Johnstown, PA, committed to keeping young people in the area once they complete high school. They have designed an incentive program to motivate students to perform well in school and to build a bridge between students in high school and the business community.

The program offers incentives, or challenges, in the following categories:

· Most community service hours

· Most improved

· Best overall GPA

· Best attendance

A $250 reward will be given to one student in each category in 10^th, 11^th, and 12^th grades. A total of $3,000 will be awarded per school during each academic year. This program is expected be in all school districts in Somerset County.

The Challenge Program, Inc., also provides for business leaders to address students at assemblies to tell the story of their success, discuss career opportunities, and explain the educational requirements or skills needed for those positions.
