Community of Somerset County, we are inviting you to participate in what began
as a Teen Workforce Development project by a group that participated in
We are continuing this
project that started as a county-wide job shadow program. Our goal is to help people make an educated
decision about their career. This
project began as a program to help teens specifically make choice,to help them understand the jobs available in
A database of more than 30
businesses has been created to showcase the job shadow program. Wouldn’t your business like to
participate? Of course!
The student or interested
person will be working with your business for one day to give them an idea of
the tasks that would be required of that particular career. We’d like to have the Employer Sign Up Form completed and returned so that we can add your
business to the already growing database.
It is important for our youth and others who are making career decisions
to know that our county is a great place to grow and work and stay!
The person will call your
business to schedule their day with you.
As the database is updated regularly, you have the opportunity to add or
remove particular shadowing opportunities that your company has available. Also, your business at your discretion, may
ask the student or parent, or interested person to sign a release form or
confidentiality statement from your business.
All you have to do to begin
participating in the program is to complete the form and either mail or email
the information back to us at teenworkforce@co.pa.us
